Do you guys believe in love at first sight?? I clearly don’t but my husband disagrees. Because for him it was, when he saw me sitting on a swing outside my best friend’s house of more than 20 years, which also happens to be his first cousin. Weird right? such a co-incidence you say? Well trust me we were equally shocked. we didn’t know this either until we met at his cousins wedding (My best friends’ brother) last year where I was invited and we met.
You have definitely heard of Romeo and Juliet, Heer Ranjha! Well today we will tell you the funny and charming love story of Chasham and Angad that is somewhat feels directly out of a romantic Novel.
WE HAVE ALL HEARD THAT PHASE " YAAR YEH LADKI KON HAI" which guys usually stutters to their friends enquiring about a "way out of their league chick" that they are dying to mate with but in our case of comedy it happened twice, innocently after a gap of good 15 years! Well you know what they say about history repeating itself, well it definitely became true in our case.
So, remember the day we met (which was the mehndi day), he asked my best friends’ boyfriend " yeh kaun hai yar" to which he replied. She's the best friend and my husband (stranger back then replied, I want to take her back to Canada ". Well in case, I forgot to mention, he was visiting India for his cousins wedding and was there for a month. He's based in Canada. So, with that thought he got up. came up to me and introduced himself. And trust me as soon as you see him, you just cannot help but notice his broad shoulders and his 6 ft 4 height. So yeah you cannot miss him in a room full of people.
So anyways, as the day went by, we started chit chatting but at the dinner table is where i came to know " KI YEH LADKA TOH PICHLE 15 SAAL SE MERE PICHE PADA HUA", So apparently, when we were young and in 6th standard , my best friends decided to throw a surprise birthday bash for her ,took us all to fun city and where all her cousins arrived too.... and while we were that young even then Angad( My so called hubby enquired to her cousin " Yaar yeh teri friend kon hai " and when she reminded us of that incident and what happened today we were so shocked and in awe because it’s been more than 15 or so years since that incident. Well funny my husband had his eyes on me not once but twice!
Anyways after that revelation and epiphany, it is safe to say we were the talk of the whole marriage as we were literally inseparable after that. He was flying back after a month and we met every single day morning for coffee before my work and for the evenings a huge pasta with infinite garlic bread! Damn man, no one has ever eaten that much garlic bread and pasta in a month.
And the day came, he had to go back. safe to say I cried and created a ruckus! It felt like somebody was taking my heart out, leaving only body behind but you know how guys are like all strong and no emotion masculinity , he kept on saying to me it was going to be ok , that we will meet soon but the day he had to leave he came up to me and said" tere bina hun dil ni lagna" and we knew from that moment that we were it.
Fast forward 6 months and a trillion WhatsApp messages and a million selfies and another ten thousand arguments we decided that we both need a holiday together. So next thing you know we had tickets booked, itinerary ready for a 21-day long Europe Trip together and a countless memory waiting for us. Safe to say the best 21 days of our lives and a memory of a lifetime. WE decided we wanted to tie the knot after that trip and luckily for me he had planned to visit India as well.
So as soon as we landed, we told our parents about someone special in our lives. and decided to tie the knot on 15th February. We only had 2 months to prepare the whole wedding and trust me a wedding is such a huge project especially when you are nitpicky about everything. It was crazy to the point where I kept on losing it and he kept me calm.
Finally, on 15th Feb Angad and Chasham tied the knot in their hometown Chandigarh and that novel we told you about is still being written.
